NACC Self-Study Program
This course will be given on a CD which will have the video presentation Everyday Creativity by Dewitt Jones on it. In a separate file there will be a self-study journal which can be printed out to use for answering the questions and completing the activities. The cost for the CD course is $30 plus shipping. *Please note that the video presentation of this course will expire within 30 days of beginning the course. There will be notification of how much time you have each time you view the program. The time clock for the program doesn't begin until you actually open the program and begin the course.
For example: If you purchase the self-study progam and don't actually open up the CD and begin the course until a month or so later, that is fine. The 30 day window does not begin until you open up the file on the CD and begin the course.
Program Title: Everyday Creativity - Techniques to Increase Your Creative Potential
Program Goal: The program goal is to present a new perspective about creativity. The intention is to teach that creativity is not a magical, mysterious occurrence that it is usually assumed to be. The program will teach that creativity is primarily an attitude. The program will teach techniques to look at the ordinary and see the extraordinary.
Program Objectives: The program objectives are aligned with the eight key concepts in the video program by Dewitt Jones called "Everyday Creativity." The program objectives aligned with each key concept are as follows:
Key Concept 1: Every act can be a creative one.
Key Concept 2: Creativity is a matter of perspective.
Key Concept 3: There's always more than one right answer.
Key Concept 4: Re-frame problems into opportunities.
Key Concept 5: Don't be afraid to make mistakes.
Key Concept 6: Learn to break the patterns.
Key Concept 7: Train your technique.
Key Concept 8: To create, you've got to really care.
Program Outcomes: At the conclusion of the self-study program the student will have viewed the video program Everyday Creativity, completed study questions and activities relevant to each chapter, completed a planning activity, and analyzed a concluding story to identify key concepts that were applied by the author.
